Your Lungs

May 4th 2010

Your lungs is one of the most important life-sustaining organs you have.  You can still live if your heart stops beating for a minute or two.  And you can live without food for a few days.  However, you will die the moment your breathing stops.
Keep your lungs healthy.
It is one of the most delicate organs [...]

Have You Got Too Much Going On In Your Head?

April 20th 2010

Are you experiencing headaches, dizziness, light headedness, blurry vision, or anything up in the head region?
But if you do…. most likely it means you’ve got too much (imbalanced) Qi rising up to your head region and causing you discomfort in one way or the other.  By the way, this can happen with too much [...]

Know Your Baseline

April 6th 2010

People experience symptoms or health issues all the time. How do you know if it’s something that you should pay attention to? Know yourself.
You have to know your baseline. Everyone’s baseline is different. You’ve got to become aware of your own baseline.
When you know your baseline, you can better distinguish when [...]

Don’t Give It A Name

February 23rd 2010

Diagnoses Are Powerful.

A medical diagnosis, like asthma, has a whole set of symptomology, expectations, medical implications, prognoses, fears, and limitations attached to it.
But perhaps you can refer to “asthma” as “shortness of breath”.
Your experience as “shortness of breath” is more descriptive in nature and has less of a “charge” to it than an official diagnosis.

Changing Bad Habits

January 12th 2010

In a recent email survey, someone requested assistance and suggestions for “the ability to change bad habits”.   They didn’t specify what kind of bad habit, so I will address it from a more general standpoint.
I can’t really say if anyone is born with an “ability to change bad habits”.  I think it’s one of those [...]

December 30th 2009

Going Downhill is Faster & Easier Than Going Uphill

December 29th 2009

I once had an acupuncturist tell me that it’s harder to regain your health once you’ve let it slip.  She said it’s important to watch and preserve your health.
She gave the analogy of skiing.
When you ski downhill, it’s SO easy and fun.  It almost takes no effort to ski down hill.  It’s fast & quick!
However, [...]

Are You In the Same Place Now As You Were Last Year?

December 9th 2009

It’s already December 2009 and another year is almost over.
Compared to last year (2008), ask yourself…

Has the level of stress this year impacted you than previous years?  You can’t do anything about the stress but it’s making your life miserable or your health worse?
Do you have stress-related signs such as headaches, insomnia, palpitations, [...]

The Difference Between Exercise and Movement Therapy

December 8th 2009

Movement is required in all forms of exercise.  However, movement therapies are more than just about flexing muscles and increasing heart rate. Some movement modalities such as yoga, Qi Gong, and Tai Qi barely have any movements at all. So how are they helpful?
These three movement therapies (yoga, Qi Gong, and Tai Qi) all put [...]

Going Broke From One Latte

December 1st 2009

A friend told me a story of a woman who was a Starbucks to buy a latte using her debit card… but the transaction didn’t go through.  She was completely surprised that she had no more money in her account.  She was totally broke.
But the back story tells more.   She had been buying a [...]
