Notice yourself and your body’s responses to different foods, stress, weather, etc. In different circumstances, notice how your body will let you know where your threshold is weak and unable to tolerate certain circumstances (emotional stress, cold weather, humid, strenuous exercise, etc.).
Your body is subtle. It will actually send you subtle messages (especially in early on). This is where TCM is best in acknowledging the subtleties of physical sensations that is left unaccounted for in conventional medicine.
Seemingly common phenomenon, such as cold hands and feet, constantly having to clear your throat, or an irritable temperament, all have meaning in Chinese medicine and this information clues us into what is off balance in the body.
