I started seeing Therese in November of 2007. At the time, I had been dealing with pain, swelling, and stiffness from chronic psoriatic (think Rheumatoid) arthritis. I was taking a lot of medication for my disease including about 2000mg of non-steroidal anti-inflammatories. Those meds were hurting my stomach and I felt like I was still getting worse.
I decided to give acupuncture a try. Four months later, I no longer take the anti-inflammatories. The pain and swelling are under control. I still get stiffness, but it is completely manageable.
Therese is very thorough, treating the whole person, not just the disease. Her knowledge of herbs has also helped my arthritis and the stomach problems. Therese advised me to use holistic methods and techniques for healing a recent injury. I accidentally injured my hand and tore the tendon on my thumb. My hand surgeon put a cast on it and said I may potentially need surgery. I really didn’t want that. That certainly was not my plan. Who has time for that?
So I spoke with Therese about it and she made just 2 recommendations for me to prevent surgery and actually promote healing to the injured area. I followed those suggestions every day with full dedication because I didn’t want surgery.
I was anxious to see the results. After 3 weeks, the cast came off and the surgeon said I had healed well enough and I wouldn’t need surgery. I was SO happy!
